There are thousands of wedding caterers in the Northeast. Some are really pricey, others are not. The price doesn't always correlate with the quality.

 

Photography & Videography

A wedding photographer is not really the area where you will save money, unless you're related or close friends with a talented photographer. It's your big day and you want pictures to cherish. Do not settle for inexperienced photographers.

DJs & Entertainment

This could possibly be a big money saver. Reviews from past customers are HUGE when picking a DJ/Entertainer. They are the life of the party -the difference between a boring reception and a fun celebration to remember! 

Wedding Cakes & Desserts

One word - TASTING. Always, always set up a cake tasting appointment before buying. These cake vendors come highly recommended for their taste, quality, and low prices.

Transportation

When looking for transportation, you want to work with someone who is reliant and reasonable. Some companies will charge you for the duration of the day, others will only charge for the time they are actually driving. Check around, you will find many different prices. 

Hair, Makeup & Beauty

Finding a hair stylist that is also a makeup artist is an easy way to save money; usually they will give you a bundle discount. Also, make sure you look into pictures of their past clientel to see what kind of work they are capable of. Always have them do a trial run, too! 

 Dresses & Tuxedos

Have you considered looking into a bridal consignment shop? Most of the dresses are in like-new condition (a wedding is only one day!)

A wedding officiant is a big factor in your perfect day. Their words set the mood for your wedding ceremony. Decide what feeling you want you and your guests to experience at your ceremony prior to hiring your officiant.
